AI intake for immigration law firms

What our AI voice agent does with an immigration call, from the first ring to the record in your CRM. You can ring the live immigration desk, in English or Spanish, before you read any of it.

The short answer. Infinivo runs a managed AI voice agent for immigration firms. It answers every call, chat and email at any hour, in English or Spanish, takes the type of matter, any detention and the next hearing or deadline while the caller's still on the line, gets the urgent ones to whoever's on call, and books the consultation onto your calendar.

Ring the immigration desk yourself

+1 978 951 8177 is a live immigration desk for Okonkwo & Vega, a made-up firm in San Diego, and it's the same system we run for paying firms. It's the one demo line that takes Spanish on the phone. Call it about a brother who's just been detained, ask whether he qualifies for anything, and then read what it wrote down.

The language gap most firms haven't covered

Plenty of immigration firms have Spanish covered already. The US Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey puts roughly 10.5 million people with limited English outside Spanish: 36% of the limited-English population, spread across around 350 languages. The desk switches to Spanish mid-call when the caller does, and we'll tell you exactly which other languages we can cover for your firm before you sign anything. The figures and their source are on our sources page.

What happens on an immigration call

  1. It picks up within two rings, and the caller hears straight away that they're talking to the firm's AI assistant and that the line is recorded.
  2. It asks your questions, in your order. What kind of matter it is, who it's for, their country of origin, whether anyone is detained, the next hearing date, any filing deadline, what's been filed before, family in the US, and whether another lawyer is involved. It skips anything the caller has already said.
  3. It checks the matter against your intake criteria, the ones you gave us in writing at the build.
  4. It books the consult onto your calendar, or marks it urgent, with an attorney calling today, if it can't wait.
  5. Your team gets the record in Filevine, Litify or Clio, with the recording, the transcript and a disposition.

What it won't say to an immigration caller

The desk collects facts. It won't tell anyone what they qualify for, how likely a case is to succeed, what to tell an officer or an agency, or whether to file anything, and it gives no view on the law. When a caller asks, the desk says plainly that it's an AI assistant and that the attorney is the one who'll go through it with them. The rule is in the contract, every transcript is kept, and the compliance brief sets out how it's enforced.

Calls that can't wait

You decide what counts as urgent. For most immigration firms that's someone detained right now, a hearing in the next few days, or a filing deadline that's about to pass. The desk marks the call urgent, tells the caller an attorney will call today, and posts to Slack or texts whoever's on call, with what the caller said and a link to the recording. If someone says they're in danger right now, it tells them to call 911 and asks nothing else.

The CRM, going live, and how you pay

The desk writes to Filevine, Litify and Clio directly. Going live takes weeks, you keep the numbers you already advertise, you listen to recordings of real callers first, and if the system ever goes down, calls fail straight back to your existing line. Nothing is due, the build included, until the desk has booked five qualified consultations from your own inbound, and after that it's a flat monthly fee scoped on a call. We work with firms of two attorneys or more, and only one firm per market.

Questions immigration firms ask

Can an AI take immigration intake calls in Spanish?

Yes. The desk switches to Spanish mid-call when the caller does and takes the whole intake in Spanish. You can ring the immigration demo line in Spanish to hear it. We'll tell you which other languages we can cover for your firm before you sign.

What does it do when someone calls about a detained family member?

It notes who's calling and who's detained, takes what the caller knows, and gets their number, then marks the call urgent so your on-call attorney gets the details straight away with a link to the recording.

Will it tell callers what they qualify for?

No. Eligibility is legal advice and the desk never gives it. It says that's the first thing the attorney will go through with them and books the consult or marks the call urgent.

How is this different from an answering service?

An answering service takes a message. The desk asks your intake questions, checks the matter against your criteria and books the consult before the caller hangs up, and it takes several calls at once. There's a fuller comparison on our guide to AI intake options.

Does it work with Clio, Filevine or Litify?

Yes, all three directly. Every matter lands with the recording, the transcript and a disposition. If you're on something else, bring it to the call and we'll tell you honestly whether we can wire it.

Ring the desk, then talk to me.

Call the immigration line first, in English or Spanish. If what you hear would work for your firm, book 30 minutes and bring your call volume. I'll tell you on the call whether this is worth doing, including when it isn't.
